On my new ASUS laptop I came across a problem yesterday. I tried going to da but it froze, I tried again, and again, and the same thing happens. Also, the freezing DOESN'T happen on any other site I go to. To make it even more weird, the freezing is only on my computer, and only on da. I just don't get it, can someone help please? By the way I am currently on my dad's Dell laptop.

Last Thursday, I went to the Freshman Convocation for my College. The main speaker was Yann Martel, author of the award winning novel, Life of Pi. His speech was very inspiring and he spoke about the themes and ideas of his book, as well as a personal message to all the first year college student's (which I was included).

Also, A famous magician named Jay Owenhouse (www.youtube.com/watch?v=YCZMCY…) presented his own speech. For those of you who don't know Owenhouse has lived with tigers for at least 5 or 10 years (Here's more about them www.bozemandailychronicle.com/…).

As you can see, the Convocation was awesome. I even got a signed copy of Life of Pi, which I am still reading. I still haven't seen the movie yet, but I know that "Life of Pi" has enlarged to something great in these past few years. I'm just happy I had such a great Convocation for my first year in college.

Ok, so lately I have been unable to post ANY Art, none whatsoever. All my art is the memory of my Nintendo 3DS, in photos or made digitally. DA does not support the 3DS internet browser, so I cannot directly post my art. My 3DS does have a SD card though, Which gave me an idea. I thought I could try my SD card in the laptop, but even that was stopped.

First I tried getting to the right files, it works, because it's labelled under "Nintendo 3DS." Then I went to the Submit Art page and tried uploading the files I wanted. That is where the problem comes in. I just can't get the files to upload, none of them. I tried every file, but not a single one worked. I don't know why, the files are all there, but none of my images can be uploaded to dA or downloaded in any way to the computer.

I just don't get it. I really have no idea why none of the files are being downloaded or uploaded. None of the files are very big either. Can anyone help me with this? I'm not much of a computer guy, but I really need some help.

I am currently thinking of how to add the next part in "The Unexpected Change," so I will work on some of my other stories when I can. To do these stories I need more access to the laptop (in a family of 6 with only 2 working computers, it's hard). Anyway, I will take a look at which stories I can continue, and try to develope the next parts and edits needed for that story. It will be one story at a time, stopping it only when I get stuck or reach chapter 8 (that's where "The Unexpected Change" is).

My limit in laptop time is also affecting my commenting and other dA interations. On other matters, I am fine, and my allergies seem to have cleared away.

Last night I had a very strange dream that seems to combine the Portal games and the Shia Labouf movie, Eagle Eye. I remember starting out realizing I had tattoos on my arms. There was a single line of words on each forearm, but I don't remember what it said. I also found a strange symbol tattooed on the back of my left hand that looked like (-o-) with a circle around it. The back of my right hand had a number and more words. Suddenly I get these messages like Shia Labouf did, except they were from Gladis from Portal. She gave me all these different instructions, and I was forced to follow them. At one point I even had to disguise myself as a police officer. After all these instructions, I actually got to meet Gladis. I found out she was using me for her plan to dominate Earth and do something evil with it. For all you Portal fans, you know that Gladis should not have that kind of power. Anyway I also found out I was just one of many clones Gladis is using for her evil plan. Eventually I end up meeting some of the other clones and we start planning out a way to stop Gladis, even though we were part of bringing it to completion. I don't remember the details, but my dream ends around the time I was planning with the other clones. The dream does not have Aperture, and Gladis was the only element in my dream from the Portal game. The way she was giving the clones (and me) instructions, was very similar to how it was in Eagle Eye.

On Saturday night I had an interesting dream that seems kind of bad, but I'm more curious of it, than terrified of it. I was in a white room. there was nothing but a bed and a door. I went through the door and ended up in a laboratory. It was white as well but one of the walls were completely glass showing a view of a beautiful summer forest. The table in the middle held all sorts of scientific eipment. There were scientists in labcoats carrying notebooks. There was one that was sitting, an old man with gray beard and balding head. He reminds me of the Antagonist in "Run-Away Jury." He spoke to me and greeted me formally. I asked him about this place and he showed me a map. "We are in the main circular building," he said, "The circles around it are the 8 testing zones. You will be tested in Sector-8." Then I ended up in a forest inside a glass dome. This glass dome was at least a mile wide, and had insects and small black bats. There were some people there like me. I explored the forest and find a river in the middle. Then we were all experimented one. The details of the tests were fuzzy at best, but I do remember one turned off the gravity in the room for a "flight simulation." Then I somehow realized that our experiments had to do something with the bats. There was a connection between the bats there and the humans there. I think that somehow, we humans were to become bats. I was granted an audience with the old guy from before. I remember asking him, "Is this supposed to be some 'Natural Selection' thing going on?" He answered, "No, you were each chosen for a different purpose." The rest is fuzzy, but my dream ends shortly afterwards.

Yay. I just got the Hobbit for Blueray and DVD! I have only seen it once in theaters and I enjoyed it a lot. I know that some areas are different in the book. Such as the secret meeting Gandalf had in Rivendale, and the fact that Radagast and the Necromancer are not even mentioned in the book, but I still loved the movie. Peter Jackson is still a great director, and the cast was amazing like they were in the LotR trilogy. Plus it must also be noted that the other movies had some big changes as well. For example, Fellowship of the Ring skipped a few chapters from the time Frodo's little gang left Hobbiton to the time they first stepped into the tavern with "Strider." Unfortunately, It's pat 10 pm in my time, so I can't watch the Hobbit tonight. I also checked a new book, Silverwing, by Kenneth Oppel (by the way, Oppel and I share a first name).

I have kind of been using these journals as a dream journal, but for those weird dreams I wouldn't mind sharing. One of my latest dreams doesn't entirely make sense:

I started out in what looks like a hotel or hot springs area. Either way it was a public building with a large swimming pool. It was someone's birthday, probably mine (I'm actually turning 18 this Easter). I recognized some people that I can't recall now. I also remember seeing to birds, one was a swan and the other was either an albatross or hawk. They turned into these two girls who knew me, but I didn't know them. There was also this other girl at the party and she was a friend of mine (I don't know her in real life). My friend and I were the only ones who knew about the birds that turned into girls. Then my friend and I tell these two girls that we secretly want to become birds ourselves. At this moment we were in some rooms with red lockers. My friend wanted to be either a dove or swan, and I wanted to be a hawk. The two new girls said that they could arrange it for us, all we had to do is go into the pool. We did and we both ended up in this large bubbles of air. Suddenly there is no floor or walls to the pool and I am forced to focus on the bubble I'm in. I remember actually changing into a red-tailed hawk. Eventually, I get out of the pool but what happens afterward is fuzzy and unclear.

I don't know what any of my dreams mean let alone this one. I would be interested if there was some meaning to it that someone can find.

As many of us know, Easter switches between different days, sometimes in April, other times in March, but always on a Sunday. Easter is a great holiday, no doubt, but it gets confusing when the day it lands on isn't always the same. For me it got a little interesting. I am turning 18 years old on March 31, going to become a legal adult at the end of the month. In fact I was almost born on April Fools day (April 1st). The funny thing is that Easter has landed on my birthday this year.
You can go check your 2013 calenders and see that Easter is now on March 31st. Easter has landed on my B-day only once before in my life, and was 2 years old I think. Now it comes again and the timing is amazing, because 18 is an important age for teens, because that's when we become adults and "leave the nest." Now my birthday may be more busy, but also all the more special, because the first Easter was a very important date in our history.

"No!" I screamed, "Anything but that!" The girls didn't listen to my begging and pleading. I am in so much trouble. "I plead the 8th!" I yell. I guess these girls don't think of this punishment as cruel or unusual. My thoughts went back to how this whole mess got started. You see I was in this "Boys only" club. We would pick on girls, but not harshly. You know, what young kids like us would always do. Except this time, I went too far. I pushed a girl into a pile of mud. I didn't know that she would lose her balance so easily and land face first. Now she has her friends dragging me into the worst form of torture known to any man: strapped to a chair and forced to watch the entire Twilight Saga marathon. It was too much to bear. It's worse than my mom lecturing me about not cleaning my room, worst than my dad seeing the F on my report card. I don't see how girls stand this stuff. Then again, there is a theory that girls are actually aliens trying to control the world. Anyway, I try to convince these girls to find a more mild punishment, like pushing me into the mud face first. This is just not fair! They drag me through the pink halls of their clubhouse. "Seriously, I promise that I will never be mean to girls again, I cross my heart!" One of the girls came up and said, "Too bad, you must suffer the consequences." Terrified I yell, "This isn't some punishment, it's execution, a slow and extremely painful execution!" The girl smiles and replies, "Good, then that means it will teach you some manners." I am in a desperate state now, my friends can't reach me here, and if they did, they would be totally outnumbered. They force me unto this pink leather chair and force me to face a giant flat-screan tv. They turn it on and I yell, "NOOOOOOOO!!!!" Then I wake up gasping for breath. My room is as dark as ink. I calm down realizing it was only just a dream. What a relief.

Honestly all of this is fictional, the character the dream, the clubs. I tried to imagine what it would be like if a Middle School aged boy was forced to watch an entire Twilight Saga Marathon. I am not entirely against girls (though I am against Twilight). It's supposed to explore the idea of a young boy overstepping his bounds and receives the "Ultimate Punishment." I mean no offense to either gender.

I have to write this down before I lose this dream to the abyss of forgetfulness. Ok so I start out in some strange place, it was kind of like a hugh castle place, but all high tech. As I enter, I am welcomed by all these people, which I think are all anthros (I know some of them were at least). They all invited me to have lunch, I had to go towards the top of the building. Leading out from it was what looked like stairs.
I could either go up the stairs or slide on the railing all the way up (it was a dream, so...). I managed to go up and enter the Cafe. There were tacos for lunch, freashly served and the meat had just been made, so they were really hot. I had a taco and sat down, talking with some of the people, I don't remember who or what it was about.
Then some meeting started, I know that it was important, but I don't remember much of it. I remember hearing something about the history of this place. It was like a sanctuary for people that were different, like anthros. There was some evil scientist who started all this pain in the world and caused the existance of all these people here today. I felt so sympathetic for them. They also announced my arrival.
As I was sitting, I saw a small black cat nearby staring at me curiously from on top of the wall (there was no ceiling in the Cafe). Then the cat walked off. I decided to follow the cat. I ran up and made it to the stairs. The cat was there perfectly balanced on the rail. It walked off and I followed it some more.
Then we reached this small room, but it was a messy room, kind of like a child's room. I saw the cat and realized that she wasn't fully a cat. She was a cat anthro, and she was smaller than me. She said her name, but I forgot what it was (even in the dream, I forgot). It was some strange name where part of the name meant arrow.  She explained that each new visitor gets a name like that and the meaning is always two english words that represent the person. Plus we are given a colored bead shirts that tells the name in pictures.
The shirt looked like one of those little bead animals you can get, but in the form of a chain-mail shirt. The girl had one with red arrows on it a something that looked like fire. She also told me that she had three sisters, all of them anthro cats. Then as if right on cue, two of them came in. I can't remember what they said, but from what I can remember the first one I met was the youngest. She also felt left out of the sisterhood.
The two older sisters left and the youngest one, was sad. She told me that one of their sisters were missing. Then she changed the subject by saying that I needed a shirt and a name. I don't know how she picked it, but she gave me a name that had "Coach" in the meaning. It was something like "Supportful Coach" or something like that. She she gave me a bead shirt, but I don't remember exactly what it showed.
The arrow girl said she wanted to be alone, and I left. Then, as I was walking out, I saw another cat girl. She looked even younger that the one I met earlier, and her fur was mostly purple. She was giggling and laughing and she disappeared into a wall. I was more curious than afraid so I followed her. It turned out that the wall was a hidden passage that led deap into the building.
I saw the little cat girl again, and followed her some more. Then I made it into a strange laboratory-type room. There was a giant moniter that was bright compaired to the tunnels. It made a sillohette of a man. He turned around and I was able to see him a little better. I don't remember if he said anything, but he passed me. As he passed I saw him clearly. He was an old guy with a labcoat.
He had absolutely no hair on his head, no hair at all. He had some wrinkles, but still looked young. He also had these dark, evil eyes and studied me like I was prey. The smile he gave me sent shivers down my spine, and I suddenly afraid. He looked like a mad scientest who had just found the perfect specimen to experiment on. I didn't move until he left the room down the hallway I just came in through.
I wondered if that was the evil scientist who caused all this pain. The image of him still lingers in my mind. I ran out to the opposite hallway to find that little girl. the rest is fuzzy, but I remember that I was still searching for that anthro cat girl, who I believe is the missing sister, and wanted to show me something. I was still searching for her when my dream ended. I just woke up too, and this is now one of my favorite dreams, because of it's story. Again I say, it felt so real, I really thought it was real.

Laying in the livingroom chair, I try to sleep. It was past our bedtime, but my parents said that my brother and I could finish watching the movie and sleep in the livingroom. That's not a problem for my brother Kalvin, but it certainly is for me. What nobody seems to understand is I absolutely can't sleep in that room. Something is always... off in this area at night that causes great discomfort for me. It's like an aura that only invades those rooms at night. By "they," I mean the doorless and open connection between the livingroom, kitchen, and hallway. One factor is the ghost I saw once walking through the hall, I've never seen him more than once in my life, but I was frozen in fear by that view. Since before that time, I've had an uneasy, uncomfortable feel at night when I venture out there. I can't sleep out in the livingroom, and when I do, it's restless, and full of nightmares. My bedroom is right across the hall to the bathroom, and when I need to go at night, feel panic start to rise in my heart. Even keeping my door open is unbearable for me. Maybe "aura" is a closer word that I thought. That area at night brings out the fear and alertness out of me like nothing else. I'm not afraid of the dark, I just feel something uninviting out there at night. During the day, that area has none of it's evil feel, it will actually feel comfortable. At night, the feeling is unbearable, even with 6 people as company. There is always an exception though, one single constant night that never fails to feel comfortable. That one night where no darkness seems to creep in my house is Christmas Eve night, the night where my entire household feels peaceful. But tonight, I've had to try to sleep out there. I was just laying down in the red chair, feeling like I was in a sauna, it was so hot. Tired but restless, calm, but terrified. The feeling got so unbearable, that I actually went into my room for sleep, my sanctuary. As I type, I feel the sleep fighting for control, shuddering at the fresh memory of my night. It is a full moon, I saw it through the blinds. I did doze off a little before entering my room, but not for long. I can tell, because during my little doze, the moon barely moved. It is not a fear of the dark that made me lose and return to sleep in my room, it was the fear of some unidentified presence lurking in the dark.

It was supposed to be a fun, worry-free day. We went to a city called Billings, and had a nice road trip. We even went to Golden Corral. The entire day was spent in Billings, and it was extremely fun. Then my sisters, Julia and Jessica got sick. Soon after, my brother, Kalvin, and I got sick. For me it started when my stomach started feeling horrible a few hours ago. Now... lets just say that I literally lost my lunch. The day was going great too. Now all of us are sick to the stomach, and we were hit hard. We're all going to have to stay home from school now until we feel better.

I am currently working on a life-sized model of a Hawk for my Senior project. Is there anyone here that know the measurements needed for the bones. or how the covert feathers add on. I'm going from the skeleton up, and I'm ending with the feathers. Techniques for the Bailing wire may work too. I understand if nobody really knows, it's not something you would know if you weren't really into birds.

I can't always make heads or tails of my dreams, in fact, I hardly ever do. This time my dream isn't quite a nightmare or a super fun dream, its just kind of strange. It has an easy to follow plot, but no definite lesson. I start out sailing on a giant sailboat (like those boats of the 1800s that the navy used before metal ships). It had some modifications such as some side doors for loading and unloading cargo, that other boats of its kind didn't have.
We were sailing near some coast that I didn't see, but I knew it was nearby. This dream was modern day though, and this boat had no links to any navy. Inside we had antiques, the kind you'd see in a museum. I don't know why I was along, I still can't think of any reasons why I would join the voyage. Every thing seems nice, and I was really enjoying myself. I was even a good friend of the captain.
Then we were boarded by pirates, and they knew what they were doing. I hid with the captain and two others below deck. We looked for anything that could help us escape. Then we found this hover boats (one of those old ones with a giant fan on back). We opened the loading doors and tried to get the old machine started, but for some reason, the boat would only turn on in water.
Then I realized that I had the power to manipulate water like a waterbender in the Avatar series. I manipulated the water to help get the hover boat some power. All four of us jumped on and we were off in an instant. I was in the back and the Captain was in the front. The two others were crew members, but I don't remember them well. Somehow the pirates got one of their own and chased us.
The pirates that chased us were only a small group, and most of the pirates were still on their ship. Our pursuers were possibly the dumbest of the pirates too. They were so dumb and comical, I just couldn't take these ones seriously. I still wonder why the rest of the pirates decided to send only dumbest to chase us. Lets just say that it was like being chased by the three stooges.
We went into a town just off the coast that we were near. For some reason, this town makes me think of Lundon, even though I knew it wasn't actually Lundon. The layout was kind of like the layout for Venice. Somehow I knew the layout for this city, but it was definitally modern day. Most of the chase was in the watery streets and in the sewer areas. Manipulating the water helped a lot too.
I'm not sure on the details, but I don't think we ever set foot on land. We were still losing the pursuers when I woke up, but it didn't seem life threatening, because of the IQ of the specific prirates we saw. I still don't know the outcome of the ship, or the fate of the rest of the crew. I don't often get dreams involving the sea.

At around 9:00 pm, my family and I went to see a movie. After the movie, around midnight, my dad went on facebook. He saw my cousin Joey post all this bad stuff about our family. All of it are lies that he really believes. Joey is around twenty years old and he dropped from school. He started drugs and got into smoking. He has dropped the drugs, but got into a really bad drinking habbit (like going to the hospital for alcohol poisoning bad). Now Joey has been believing these lies about our family. Anyways, he was posting these lies on facebook, and my dad saw it. He and Joey get into a fight. Then Joey starts threatening our family. Now it's serious, and Joey lives near my grandparent's place. He hates my grandma the most, so my dad and I go out there. Dad has the pistol and is trying to make sure everything is fine. We drive by Joey's house but all lights are off and we can't tell if his truck is there or not. After a while discussing things at my grandparent's house, we go to leave. Then my dad notices tire trackes in the driveway area that don't belong to our van or my grandparent's vehicles. The tires that made them looked brand new, and we suspect it was Joey. Joey got new tires about a year ago. Luckily the vehicle that made these tracks showed no sign of stopping. Everything seems alright now though. I was, and still am, pretty scared. I prayed to God to help us out. What a crazy night it has been.

The new update for the submit art may be good for some people, but not for me. Now when I try to upload files using my 3DS (only way I can), the page won't load up all the way. Now If I want to post anything with my 3DS, it'll have to be journals. Now I can't upload any of the cool pictures I made. The laptop is my dad's and so I can't make any files in there. So if I use the Submit art feature, it will only be Literature, no pics.
